The above-named Ministry is a non-governmental organization (NGO) headquartered in Maryland, United States. Her primary focus is to provide support to widows and their dependents in the different areas of need in their lives with the view to equipping them to be self-reliant, independent, and productive members of society. We exist to bring light into places of grief and loss.
Over the last few years, God has used BFAMI to be a blessing to the lives of widows financially, spiritually, emotionally and in many other ways as real-life issues and concerns pertaining to the widows are discussed and addressed. Increasingly, the widows are been helped to live peaceful, healthy, fulfilled and God-pleasing lives.

What We Have Done So Far

By God’s grace, BFAMI has made a lasting and tangible impact in the lives of widows through various targeted initiatives. One of our core efforts is educational support for their children. Over the past three academic years, we have awarded a total of 113 scholarships which includes 40 in 2022/23, 35 in 2023/24, and 38 in 2024/25. These scholarships often cover tuition, school supplies, and uniforms, helping children stay or return to school and giving them the tools they need to thrive

Another key area is economic empowerment. BFAMI has provided financial assistance to widows to help them start or expand small businesses and trades. This not only fosters independence but also restores dignity as these women are able to provide for their families. In addition, we have extended housing assistance, helping widows secure safe and stable accommodation, mostly through rent support—so their families can live in peace and security.

Medical aid has also been a vital part of our outreach. We have supported widows and their children by covering necessary medical expenses, ensuring that urgent health needs are met with compassion. Beyond physical needs, BFAMI has built a supportive community of over 120 widows, offering regular gatherings that foster fellowship, encouragement, and emotional healing. This community provides a space where no one feels alone in their journey.

Finally, we emphasize spiritual growth and emotional healing through monthly teachings, weekly prayer meetings, and personal counseling. These spiritual activities deepen each widow’s faith and offer strength for life’s challenges. Every December, our Christmas Blessings initiative brings gifts and financial aid to widows and their children, reminding them that they are not forgotten and they are deeply loved by God and by us.

Expanding Our Reach and Impact

As Beauty For Ashes Ministry International (BFAMI) continues to see God’s love transform the lives of widows and their families, we remain dedicated to both sustaining our current efforts and expanding our reach. In response to the growing needs within our community, we are prayerfully setting new goals to bring hope and practical support to even more widows in the years heading.

Increase Scholarships to 100 Children: Our aim is to provide scholarships for 100 children of the widows each year—ensuring that every child under our care receives uninterrupted access to quality education, regardless of their financial situation.

Empower 100 More Widows Economically: We desire to financially empower at least 100 additional widows to start or expand businesses and trades. This will allow more women to become self-reliant, restore their sense of purpose, and provide for their families with dignity. With them financially independent, we can enroll new widows into the ministry and further the reach of the work.

Expand Provision for Essential Needs: As more widows come under the care of BFAMI, we seek to increase support in areas such as rent, food supplies, medical care, transportation, and general welfare. Meeting these needs is vital to easing the heavy burdens many of them carry daily.

Strengthen Administrative Capacity: To serve our growing community with excellence, BFAMI is also focused on building internal capacity. This involves staff salaries and training, office and administrative needs, technology upgrades, event coordination, media production, and field logistics. With greater support and strategic partnerships, these efforts will help transform more lives, restore hope, and strengthen faith.
